ME!

Welcome to COLLEGE CHAPTER!!! This is my very first post as a blogger and I am suuuuper excited to get started. I have never had a blog before and truthfully, I am not exactly sure what I am going to be doing on here. This blog is going to be very relaxed and you never know what is going to be happening. I want this to be a place for your typical young woman to go to get new fashion ideas, cooking tips, and possibly even work out advice. Here is my back story:

I grew up in a small town in Iowa and have lived here my whole life. I come from a wonderful family who has always been there for me and is always supportive. In high school I was always involved through cheerleading, debate, and Future Educators Association all four years. I also participated in band and choir for a few years and was a cheerleading in our schools production of High School Musical. I am now at The University of Iowa and am still trying to stay involved through Residence Hall government, Woman In Business, being the Conference Chair for a leadership conference, and volunteering at The Ronald McDonald House.

The past few years I have really tried to step out of my comfort zone. I started out with trying new small things such as watching football. I never took an interest in the sport until September 2009 when one day in Chemistry class I spontaneously decided I would become a New Orleans Saints fan. Without knowing their record at the time, they ended up winning the Super Bowl that year so I decided to stick with them and have been a fan ever since. I now try to watch them whenever I can and I even own a few t-shirts and a pillow pet!! I hope to one day be able to go see a game live at the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome.

One of my biggest accomplishments in life was this past year I ran in the Chicago Marathon. This was a huuuge achievement for me because I have never been an athlete and I have never really eaten healthy, both things you need if you are going to run a marathon. I had to overcome many, many obstacles in order to cross the finish line. But that is a whole other story that I can blog about later!

I decided to start this blog because I have never had one. Simple as that. I love trying new things and I look forward to becoming a blogger. I hope this can become a place to interact with others and to maybe be an inspiration to others to try new things.
